Megaphone is looking for an enthusiastic Head of Sales that delivers at our fast-paced podcast technology and ad services company. This job will be based in New York, NY, report to the Chief Revenue Officer, and oversee the sales, advertising and sales operations, and creative solutions teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continue to build and develop our best-in-class sales organization.
  • Dramatically increase brand advertising revenue through our exclusive audience targeting capabilities.
  • Nurture and grow direct response advertising revenue with existing and new partners.
  • Develop and implement effective sales plans and strategies to drive success.
  • Help team build, effectively manage, and close against sales pipeline.
  • Lead deal reviews and develop contract summaries for key stakeholders.
  • Accurately forecast revenues and build territory strategies.
  • Monitor, evaluate and take steps to accelerate results.
  • Travel as required to meet with customers and potential customers

Requirements and attributes of the ideal candidate

  • Powerful relationships and contact base within major media agencies, including digital and programmatic teams to help open doors and close deals.
  • Track record of successfully leading organizations to high revenue growth.
  • Able to see opportunities and guide the organization to capitalize on them.
  • Deep understanding of the complexities of digital advertising.
  • Passion for and knowledge of Digital Audio/Podcast content.
  • Thorough understanding of Ad Tech that includes, but is not limited to supply-side platforms, demand-side platforms and dynamic ad insertion.  
  • Bachelor’s degree, an advanced degree is a plus
  • 10+ years of sales experience with an outstanding record of achievement
  • 5+ years of progressive sales leadership with specific experience in developing successful sales teams and sales strategy
  • Proven experience in complex sales pursuits with media companies.
  • Proven experience in consultative selling and presentations to executive level customers and partners.
  • Expert ability to present at industry conferences and trade shows.
  • Well versed in using Salesforce or similar CMS tools.
